EDITORIAL PROCESS

  1. A letter of acknowledgment is sent via email to the author upon receipt of the submitted manuscript.
  2. Our editorial process includes an evaluation of submitted manuscripts by three peer-reviewers.  We provide reviewers with anonymous copies of the manuscript, reviewer comment, and manuscript evaluation forms.
  3. Reviewers are asked to review the manuscripts using track changes to provide comments and suggestions.  Reviewers are also asked to complete a short evaluation of the manuscript and make a recommendation for manuscript publication.
  4. A disposition letter is sent via email informing the author of the peer-reviewer and senior editor’s recommendations.  We provide the authors with copies of the anonymous manuscript revision suggestions and comments.
  5. Authors whose manuscripts are in consideration for publication in the journal are asked to revise and resubmit their manuscripts and complete a response form to address reviewer suggestions.  This process allows us to engage the author in a dialogue with which we can assist them in moving their manuscript into a more publishable format.
  6. After the authors return their revised manuscripts, editorial board members are asked to review the revised manuscript and make their final recommendation.
  7. The senior editor will review the editorial board members’ findings and make a final decision on the publication of the manuscript.  A second disposition letter is sent via email informing the author of the final decision regarding the publication of their manuscript.

DEADLINES

Timelines and due dates are firm.  Authors unable to meet a deadline due to extenuating circumstances may contact the Journal staff to request an extension.  Extension requests must be made at least 7 days prior to the deadline.

Failure to meet deadlines may result in the ineligibility for manuscript publication in the Journal.

COMMUNICATIONS

Timely and clear communication is tantamount to the effective publication of a professional journal.  We are committed to maintaining clear, open communication throughout the editorial process.  We ask that authors respond to communications in a timely manner, and understand the Journal staff will provide updates on the status of the authors’ manuscript as soon as reviews, publication decisions, or other information becomes available.
